* UNTIL 945 PM AKDT WEDNESDAY

* AROUND TWO INCHES OF RAIN FELL ACROSS THE LITTLE CHENA RIVER BASIN 
  SINCE MONDAY AFTERNOON. THE RAIN HAS NOW ENDED.

* THE LITTLE CHENA RIVER WILL RISE RAPIDLY TODAY AND CREST AROUND 
  MINOR FLOOD STAGE AT MILE 12 CHENA HOT SPRINGS ROAD WEDNESDAY 
  MORNING. WATER IS EXPECTED TO FLOW OVER THE LOWER RIVERBANKS AND 
  FLOOD SOME LOW LYING AREAS.

* AS OF 10 AM...THE LITTLE CHENA RIVER GAUGE AT MILE 12 CHENA HOT 
  SPRINGS ROAD IS REPORTING A STAGE OF 16.9 FEET AND FLOOD STAGE IS 
  25.0 FEET.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED AND MINOR 
FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL 
ACROSS FLOODED AREAS AND FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  THE UPPER CHENA RIVER BASIN...

* UNTIL 845 PM AKDT THURSDAY

* OVER TWO INCHES OF RAIN FELL ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CHENA RIVER 
  BASIN SINCE MONDAY AFTERNOON. AN ADDITIONAL QUARTER INCH OF RAIN 
  IS POSSIBLE IN THE UPPER CHENA BASIN BEFORE THE RAIN TAPERS OFF 
  TODAY.

* THE CHENA RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES UPSTREAM OF THE MOOSE CREEK 
  DAM WILL RISE RAPIDLY ABOVE FLOOD STAGE THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THE 
  CHENA RIVER AT THE GRANITE TORS CAMPGROUND IS FORECAST TO REACH 
  FLOOD STAGE THIS EVENING AND CREST WEDNESDAY MORNING. THIS CREST 
  WILL MOVE DOWNRIVER AND IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE MOOSE CREEK DAM 
  ON THURSDAY.

* UP TO A FOOT OF WATER WILL LIKELY FLOW OVER MILEPOST 36.9 CHENA 
  HOT SPRINGS ROAD ON WEDNESDAY MORNING AND THE ROAD MAY BECOME 
  IMPASSABLE FOR SOME VEHICLES. WATER WILL ALSO INUNDATE A PORTION 
  OF THE GRANITE TORS CAMPGROUND PARKING LOT...THE STILES CREEK 
  SHOOTING RANGE...AND OTHER AREAS NEAR THE CHENA RIVER. IN 
  ADDITION...ALL GRAVEL BARS WILL WILL BE FLOODED AND INCREASED 
  DEBRIS WILL BE IN THE RIVER.

  THE CHENA RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF THE MOOSE CREEK DAM WILL RISE TO  
  NEAR BANKFULL BUT FLOODING WILL NOT OCCUR IN FAIRBANKS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN 
REPORTED. ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS 
IMMEDIATELY.

NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE 
FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE 
ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN 
AROUND...DONT DROWN.
