...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

THE FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* THE PORCUPINE RIVER BETWEEN THE COLLEEN RIVER AND NEAR FORT
  YUKON

* THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON

* RECENT VERY WARM TEMPERATURES ACROSS EASTERN ALASKA ARE CAUSING
HIGH WATER LEVELS ON THE PORCUPINE RIVER. A PILOT REPORT FROM
FRIDAY EVENING NOTED THAT THE WATER WAS FALLING NEAR WHERE THE
COLLEEN RIVER EMPTIES INTO THE PORCUPINE RIVER.

* HIGH WATER WILL CONTINUE TO BE AN ISSUE THROUGH THE HOLIDAY
WEEKEND AS THE SNOWMELT WATER FILTERS THROUGH THE LOWER REACH OF
THE PORCUPINE RIVER FROM THE MOUTH OF THE COLLEEN RIVER TO FORT
YUKON. A FLOOD WARNING IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FOR THE LOWER
  PORCUPINE RIVER NEAR FORT YUKON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

KEEP UPDATED ON THE LATEST FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF FLOOD WARNINGS AND ADVISORIES. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS
PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD
FLOODING DEVELOP.
