...HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WINDS TO IMPACT THE PANHANDLE THIS
WEEKEND...

A STREAM OF SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE SPREADING INTO THE PANHANDLE WILL
RESULT IN HEAVY RAINFALL OVER MUCH OF THE AREA SATURDAY THROUGH
MONDAY. WHILE IT IS TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE THE AREA OF HEAVIEST
RAINFALL...MOST AREAS ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE AT LEAST 3 INCHES OF
RAIN. CURRENT WATER LEVELS ARE LOW ON STREAMS AND RIVERS ACROSS
THE PANHANDLE BUT SIGNIFICANT RISES ARE ANTICIPATED WITH THIS TYPE
OF RAINFALL. THE FLOOD THREAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED
THROUGHOUT THE WEEK AND INTO THE WEEKEND.

ADDITIONALLY STRONG WINDS WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY THIS WEATHER SYSTEM
WITH WINDS EXPECTED TO REACH STORM FORCE OF 50 KT OVER THE
NORTHERN GULF ON SATURDAY. GUSTY WINDS CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED OVER
THE INNER CHANNELS AND SURROUNDING LAND AREAS THIS WEEKEND.

THIS STATEMENT WILL BE UPDATED BY 6 AM AKDT FRIDAY OR SOONER IF
CONDITIONS WARRANT.
