...ASH BEING RESUSPENDED FROM THE 1912 ERUPTION OF KATMAI VOLCANO...

NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS 45 TO 60 MPH ARE BLOWING ACROSS THE
REGION WHICH IS CAUSING ASH FROM THE 1912 ERUPTION OF KATMAI
VOLCANO HAS TO BLOW ACROSS SHELIKOF STRAIT AND ONTO PARTS OF
KODIAK. THIS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. COMMUNITIES
ALONG SHELIKOF STRAIT ARE THE MOST LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED...BUT ASH
SOME ASH WILL MAKE IT TO PARTS OF THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE ISLAND
AS WELL. THE BIGGEST IMPACTS WILL BE REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND POOR
AIR QUALITY. THOSE WHO ARE MORE SENSITIVE TO POOR AIR QUALITY
SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION AND CONSIDER STAYING INDOORS.

...STRONG WINDS AROUND THE ANCHORAGE BOWL CAUSING SMALL TREES TO
BLOW OVER...

GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO 25 TO 35 MPH OVER THE
ANCHORAGE AREA WHICH IS CAUSING SOME SMALL TREES TO BLOW OVER. BE
ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF FALLEN TREES IN ROADWAYS OR ALONG
PATHWAYS. ADDITIONAL POWER OUTAGES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT AS
WINDS WILL REMAIN GUSTY INTO TOMORROW MORNING.
