THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

THE US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS ALASKA DISTRICT ANTICIPATES
OPERATING THE MOOSE CREEK DAM BEGINNING BETWEEN FRIDAY EVENING
AUGUST 28 TO SATURDAY EVENING AUGUST 29.

THE MOOSE CREEK DAM WILL BE REGULATING THE CHENA RIVER SO FLOWS
DO NOT EXCEED 12 THOUSAND CUBIC FEET PER SECOND IN DOWNTOWN
FAIRBANKS. DOWNSTREAM FLOOD EFFECTS ON THE CHENA RIVER ALSO DEPEND
ON FLOW CONDITIONS IN THE TANANA RIVER AND THE LITTLE CHENA RIVER
AND LOCAL DRAINAGES. 

LOW LYING AREAS NEAR THE CHENA RIVER MAY EXPERIENCE MINOR
FLOODING AND GROUNDWATER WILL RISE TO NEAR THE GROUND SURFACE FOR
SEVERAL THOUSAND FEET WEST OF THE MOOSE CREEK DAM. RIVER
NAVIGATION THROUGH THE MOOSE CREEK DAM WILL BE UNAVAILABLE DURING
OPERATIONS.
