THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THIS MONTH WAS THE 2ND WARMEST ON RECORD WITH
THE AVERAGE HIGH FALLING IN THE 7TH WARMEST SLOT.  THE OVERALL AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE OF  42.9 DEGREES MADE THIS THE 4TH WARMEST MAY ON RECORD.  THE
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 6 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL FOR MAY AND THIS YEAR WAS
ALMOST 2 DEGREES WARMER THAN LAST YEAR.

MAY 29 - THE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 73 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF
72 DEGREES SET IN 1981.

MAY 30 - THE DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE OF 54 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS WARMEST LOW 
TEMPERATURE OF 52 SET IN 1981.

MAY 31 - THE HIGH OF 74 DEGREES TIED THE PREVIOUS RECORD FROM 1990.

ALTHOUGH THE 1.22 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS A LITTLE LESS THAN LAST MAY IT WAS
NOT QUITE A HALF AN INCH ABOVE NORMAL AND WITH 11 DAYS PRODUCING MORE THAN A
TRACE OF RAIN IT SEEMED TO BE A WETTER MONTH.  TWO PRECIPITATION RECORDS WERE
BROKEN THIS MONTH.

MAY 10 - THE 0.34 INCHES BROKE THE PREVIOUS 0.25 INCHES FROM 1988.

MAY 25 - THE 0.38 INCHES BROKE THE PREVIOUS 0.25 INCHES FROM 2001.
